We will try and fill the 2:30pm boat first,

N.B Boat pick up at 2:30pm however if you have a group or would like a different time please inquire with us.

We will pick you up from your pick up location and transfer you to Waihora. This is at the 13km mark of the Waihaha/Waihora trail. After a trail briefing, you then hike the 17km (Waihora sections) to the lake edge and finish off this section of trail, Here a boat will pick you up at the pre determined time to transfer you and your bike back to Kawakawa bay or Kinloch and your vehicle. 

Highlights include the Waihaha waterfall, stunning lake views, echo rock and of course the scenic transfer on Great Lake Taupo back to Kinloch or Kawakawa at the end of this stunning section.

Choose your pickup location

A. Kinloch pickup 9am (MOST POPULAR PICK UP LOCATION!)

we pick you up from the shelter with the trail maps, next to the fire station, opposite the marina carpark. 
choose this option if after your ride you want the boat to drop you in Kawakawa bay and ride to Kinloch (extra 9km on the K2k) or get dropped straight back to Kinloch and your vehicle...

B. Taupo or our Base at 413 Huka falls rd (by Negotiation) If you wish to be picked up in Taupo Choose this option if you don’t have transport and are staying in Taupo 

NOTE- We can adjust pick up times for groups and operate on other days but minimum numbers will apply

Towering volcanic rock cliffs, spectacular views and a waterfall hidden deep in the Waihora Valley are highlights of the Waihora section. The trail has been built with flowing corners and  downhills, and some short  climbs to keep you honest!  

Please note that in winter there is only one option scheduled for the boat pick up at 2:30 pm....If you are a big group we can offer other times by negotiation.

This is a Grade 3 trail and is suitable for fit hikers, some previous hiking experience is a good idea.
