Typically we meet at our base at 8:30am @ 413 Huka falls Rd and we can fit you with a hire bike.  From our base we drive 40 minutes to the trail head. The first 9km from Orakau towards Kawakawa bay are flowing and mostly down hill. Make sure you check out the view over the hand rail of the second bridge In Kawakawa bay you will enjoy lake views and a rest before the first big climb to codgers rock. From here there is a mix of forest and open riding as you make your way to Kinloch. You can stop here for lunch at the Kinloch dairy which does hot takeaway style food, coffee and of course a steak and cheese pie....

You reach the W2K by riding over the archway bridge spanning the Marina and following the signs for the W2K (Whakaipo to Kinloch). You ascend towards the headland loop, take a stop to enjoy the view of Kinloch. If time allows ride around the head land loop (approx 10km) or just continue on to Whakaipo bay where you can enjoy a swim (IN SUMMER) while waiting for our shuttle if you are early... We will pick you up in Whakaipo bay at 3pm or if it just your group we will be on call. This ride is suitable for confident riders that are reasonably fit.

If you wish to do the Otaketake loop we can drop you in kinloch and you can complete the 35km loop from there. This takes between 3 and 4 hours depending on how many stops, Kawakawa bay is a great spot for food or a swim on this loop if you ride it anti clock wise... (our favourite is clockwise though)
